Community Update

It was a pleasure to welcome parents and carers to our Junior Campus Open Morning earlier this week.  Our Prep and Junior tour hosts did a magnificent job in guiding our guests through the Junior Campus, whilst openly sharing their experiences as a Redlands student, and our talented musicians charmed all with their wonderful performances. A common thread in my discussions with visiting parents and carers was how impressive it was that our students were valued and known as individual learners and how they are challenged to develop and grow their unique passions and talents.

The Redlands Science and Innovation Luncheon is just around the corner and we are delighted to share the Redlands Online Auction items with our wider school community in order to view and perhaps bid.  The auction has some spectacular items up for grabs that include accommodation packages, food and beverage vouchers, wellbeing experiences, beautiful fashion items and much more. The auction is open to all and will close on Friday 20 May at 2.30pm.  A reminder that proceeds raised from this unique event will be directed to the means-tested Dr Sue Morey AM Scholarship, the fifth Redlands Foundation Scholarship, which honours and celebrates Dr Morey’s outstanding contribution and service to community health in Australia. For more information on the Science and Innovation Lunch along with our special guest panellists please visit our Foundation section.

A reminder that on Monday 23 May we welcome back Dr Tessa Opie from ‘In Your Skin: Relationships and Sexuality Education’, who will be running an information session for Redlands parents and carers on ‘Respectful Relationships Education: At School and in the Home’. This session will run from 7.00 to 8.30pm in Redlands Hall. The feedback from our parents and carers from last year’s session was extremely positive and we envision this year’s information evening will be equally informative and valuable. As seating numbers are limited, booking is essential so please ensure that you book via this link by Friday 20 May to avoid disappointment. This presentation will focus on Years 6 through 12, however, all Redlands parents are welcome.

These events provide a mere snapshot of the wide variety of opportunities our community has to engage with our School and we look forward to welcoming more of our community back on to the campus as Term 2 unfolds.  Thank you to those parents that I met this week for sharing your time and feedback with me.

I remain grateful for the continued guidance and support our community provides and, as ever, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Community Engagement team should you have any feedback, suggestions or questions.
