Community Update
We trust you are safe and well.
Our Come Zoom Dine With Us experience hosted earlier this week was a big hit. My thanks to Redlands Head of Catering and Chef Joel Squire and co-host Leanne Kells for pulling this successful initiative together and well done to the big and little cooks in their kitchens at home. It was lovely to see and share our families coming together. We have received many positive messages from our community and as such look forward to hosting another Come Zoom Dine With Us experience in early Term 4. We continue to explore other community initiatives as we contemplate an easing of restrictions and welcome your feedback.
We are fortunate at Redlands to have a community with a strong and generous tradition of giving. Our community plays a vital role in the growth and advancement of the School and our commitment to developing well-rounded, confident and compassionate young adults who will make a positive contribution in our global community.
An endowment fund for a means-tested Scholarship was launched in 2010 by our former Principal, Dr Peter Lennox. A gift of this nature provides opportunities for exceptionally talented students who will make a strong contribution to both Redlands and our society, as well as enhancing the diversity of our student body. Our goal is to grant one full-time scholarship to a Year 7 student each year. We are thrilled to announce that the Peter Lennox Scholarship, supported by the Redlands community, has been awarded to Melissa Franco. Melissa is very excited to be joining Redlands next year. You can read more about Melissa, along with former Redlands Teacher and author, Martin Pryor here.
If you are looking to connect with our community for support then please reach out to us here at the School or the passionate and diverse experience of our class and year group parents, the RPFA and Friends of Groups that support Redlands families.
We continue to monitor advice from NSW Health and the Association of Independent Schools of NSW and will keep our community informed. A reminder that all COVID-19 related communications to parents and other relevant information is posted on the COVID-19 Page of Redlands Pulse. Our ICT team are also available to provide remote technical support to assist students (and parents) and can be contact at isupport@redlands.nsw.edu.au.
I remain grateful for the continued guidance and support our community provides and, as ever, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Community Engagement team should you have any feedback, suggestions or questions.
Keep well and stay safe.
