Community Update
It was a pleasure to join the Redlands Football community last week at their end of season awards ceremony. This event, along with many others at this time of year, mark the culmination of the extraordinary efforts of our students, coaches, managers, parents and Friends of Groups (FoGs) through our seasonal cocurricular programs. We are so grateful for our active and passionate parents who continue to lead and support these educational, cultural and sporting programs through our various FoGs.
Being part of a FoG enables parents and carers to support the building of a strong and positive sense of school community through:
- Connection – by forming a supportive network that welcomes new members to the activity.
- Support – by undertaking encouraging energetic and respectful support (of all participants) at events and matches, organising social activities through the year and an annual celebration dinner.
- Assistance – many activities require active assistance such as timekeeping or scoring, assistant refereeing or marshalling or making uniforms, costumes, props or scenery.
FoGs have been established for Basketball, Drama, Football, Hockey, Music, Dance, Netball, Rowing, Rugby, Sailing, Snowsports and Touch Football. Our FoGs, led through the Redlands Parent and Friends Association, continue to explore and deliver ways to keep our community connected, included and supported. Further information on upcoming activities and events, including end of season celebrations and award presentations, can be found here.
Clean pre-loved uniforms can now be donated through the Uniform Shop for the upcoming Second Uniform Sale that will take place on Friday 13 September. This initiative enables us to recycle pre-loved uniforms back into the community whilst raising valuable funds for our means-tested Scholarship Fund, Further details can be found in the RPFA.
On Monday 2 September we look forward to hosting our Junior, Prep and Redlands House Dads at our Junior Campus Father’s Day celebrations. Prep and Junior School Dads will be welcomed with coffee in the Piazza from 7.45am, followed by classroom visits. Bookings for this always special event can be made here. Redlands House is celebrating with open classrooms from 8.30am where families can visit and share some time with our youngest students.
Thank you for your continued guidance and support and as ever, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Community Engagement team, or to me directly, should you have any feedback, suggestions or questions.
