Community Update
Like many independent schools, Redlands is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors. The role of the Board is to effectively represent and promote the interests of the School with a view to adding long term value to Redlands as an educational enterprise. The Board is responsible for setting and reviewing the strategic direction of the School as well as monitoring the implementation of that strategy by management. The Board seeks to be composed of a diversity of Directors who have the ability to contribute to the School through their experience, qualifications, talents and commitment to Redlands.
As communicated to our community earlier today, Professor Glenn Wightwick, has been elected as the incoming Chair of Redlands Board of Directors following the stepping down of current Chair, Ms Glenda McLoughlin who will also leave the Board after almost eight years of resolute and exceptional service. On behalf of the Redlands community I thank Glenda, for her service and significant achievements, in particular for being a key driver of connecting our School with the wider community throughout her tenure as Chair.
We look forward to further strengthening the engagement with our community with Glenn who is a current parent and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Enterprise at the University of Technology Sydney. Glenn has served on the School Board for the last four years, with the last two years as Deputy Chair. Please click here for more information on our Board of Directors.
It was a pleasure to welcome a number of parent groups on campus this week. Our current Year 5 families attended an information session and tour of our Senior Campus to assist in their preparation for the transition across Military Road in 2026. Our Kindergarten was a hive activity yesterday as it opened its doors for future families to see this vibrant learning and play space in action. Our Secondary School Parent Contact Group (PCG) also convened on campus this week. Our PCGs continue to explore ways to keep our community connected, included and supported within the many and varied aspects of school life. If you are looking to connect with our community for support or guidance then please reach out to the passionate and diverse experience of our class and year group parents, the RPFA and Friends of Groups.
On Monday, we look forward to celebrating our Junior Campus Redlands Mothers and Carers. Please join us for coffee, conversation and a classroom visit by registering here. I wish all mothers a Happy Mother’s Day for Sunday and look forward to seeing those that can make it to Monday’s event.
I remain grateful for the continued guidance and support our community provides and, as ever, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Community Engagement team should you have any feedback, suggestions or questions.
