Chaplain

Prayer is seen by Christians as a privilege and responsibility. We were exhorted to pray by the Lord Jesus and shown many models of prayer throughout the bible. Speaking with God is based on several truths that the bible teaches. First, God is not a distant power but a present caring Father who listens and wants good for his children. Secondly, God chooses to work through, in and with us. Thirdly, prayer helps us see situations with God’s perspective.

Our nation has celebrated the life-giving rain over the last few weeks which was a welcome relief to the relentless fires and heart-breaking drought. Many prayed for the first time, churches continued to pray and individuals called out to God for rain. As the heavens opened some thanked God for his generous provision.

Our School is a thriving community with all the complexity of people working together from variety of backgrounds, abilities and life situations. The people of Christian faith within our community believe that God is at work and that we should pray with thankfulness for our School, staff and students.

For this reason the Chaplains host a gathering to pray six times a year. We warmly welcome anyone who would like to attend any or all of the gatherings. If you are unable to attend but would like to pray for the School, please email us and we will keep you informed of the areas we are praying about.

The prayer gatherings (fondly referred to Parents who Pray) are on the following dates held from 8.30 – 9.15am in B.1.1 on the Senior Campus. Please put these dates in your diary or phone us as we value your participation in praying for Redlands.

Term 1: Tuesday 10 March and Tuesday 24 March
Term 2: Tuesday 5 May and Tuesday 9 June
Term 3: Tuesday 28 July and Tuesday 25 August
