Student News

Amber Hosker had some great results at Talent Tribe on Sunday. She came 2nd in the Restricted Jazz 12U section and the adjudicator really loved the piece and the performance. Well done Amber!

Samantha Hely was also busy at the weekend winning both the Tap Solo and Duo (with her partner) in the 14 and under section at Hollywood Bound. Well done!

Class Watching

Remember to come to our Class Watching Week from Saturday 21 – Friday 27 September. All classes available to watch are detailed on Redlands Pulse. We welcome all parents, carers and siblings.

Meet Our Alumni

All dates and audition criteria are now advertised on Redlands Pulse and on the noticeboard.

Spring Holiday Workshop

The RAD Spring Holiday Workshop for our Senior students will be held in Parkes Hall on the following dates: 30 September, 1 October and 2 October. We are excited to welcome back Mr Kit Lethby, ARAD PDTC (Dip.) Royal Academy of Dancing Vocational Graded Examiner to the Academy to run these workshops this year.

9.30-11.00am – RAD Intermediate Foundation
11.00-12.30pm – RAD Intermediate
12.30-2.00pm – RAD Advanced Foundation
2.00-3.30pm – RAD Advanced 1

Please let us know whether you will be attending or classes may be cancelled.

Holiday Jazz Rehearsal

There will be rehearsals with Ms Marcia in the holidays on Tuesday 8 October.

Preparation for EOYC

Sewing / Working Bees

Next term we will be holding our Sewing Bee in the lead up to the concert.
Dates are 19, 26 October, 31 October and 2 November. Even if you can’t sew, we have plenty of jobs that involve creating, glueing, tidying and organising.  It’s a great way to catch up with other Dance parents so come along for a chat.

Concert Volunteers 

We would love your help backstage on Concert Days especially with students’ Hair and Makeup. The procedure is:

• Volunteers email the Ballet and Dance office with your intention to help, include your WWC number and ID.
• The list of volunteers will be sent to Redlands HR for Verification and Clearance to work with children
• Cleared Volunteer List will be sent to the Parent Coordinator
• Volunteers attend a Concert Hair and Make-up Tutorial (2 November)
• SignUp Genius link will be sent to volunteers to pick their chosen volunteer time slots on Concert Days.

Hair and Make-up Tutorial 

Please attend our Hair and Make-up Tutorial on Saturday 2 November. Each year the requirements are slightly different so, even if you have done this before, please come along to see what’s new in 2019.

Virginia Burmeister (Hair) and Virginia Clayton (Make-up) will be giving demonstrations between 10.00-11.00am. 

Last Classes Term 4 for Pre-Primary and Primary Transition Classes

There will be an In class Christmas Presentation during the last class of Term 4. These classes will not be performing in the EOYC at The Concourse, Chatswood. See Redlands Pulse for details.

New Dance Tshirt Available

Unisex Redlands Ballet and Dance tshirt is available for purchase from the Uniform Shop. Sizes are available for Girls/Womens and Boys/Men, the price is $30.

Curriculum Dance

Congratulations

Congratulations to Jasmine Chubb, Chloe Church, Patrick Friedlander, Jennifer Psaroulis and Kateryna Vyshnivetska for completing the filming of their Performance and Composition works for the IB Dance Course. These works will be sent away for marking. We wish them all the best for their future endeavours.
