The most beautiful and spectacular Gala Ball was held last weekend. Luke Haberecht, our former Ballet Scholar, and Embla Bishop, our former Arts Captain and Dance student, were both guest artists for the night, entertaining the guests by singing songs from Phantom of the Opera and West Side Story along with two other Alumni artists. A great representation from our Alumni.
Sydney Eisteddfod Dance Finals
Sydney Opera House on Sunday 25 August
Congratulations to the Junior Jazz Performance Group who have been asked to perform and compete at this prestigious event on Sunday 25 August together with other groups who came first in their sections. An email has been sent to all in the group. Tickets are available from the Dance – first come first served!
RAD Exams
The Exams are happening this upcoming week 25-27 August. Please see timings for your exam on the noticeboard. We have Prep, Junior and Secondary students attending these exams and we would like to thank all the teachers and staff in advance for supporting this important event for our Ballet and Dance students. Awards Night – Buy Your Tickets Now!
The Ballet and Dance Awards Dinner will be held on 19 September at Manly Golf Club. All students in Yrs 7-12 have been invited to attend. Awards (Yrs 8-11) and Certificates (all Yr 7) will be announced at the dinner and special guests will join us. Let us know if you missed the invitation and we’ll send it to you.
We are seeking donations from our Dance community – gift vouchers, beauty products and dancer’s gifts would be much appreciated.

Coffee Morning and Hair Tutorial
Saturday 31 August 10am to 11am in Parkes Hall
Hair Demonstration by Virginia Burmeister
Our fabulous Hair Coordinator, Virginia, will be conducting a hair demonstration, teaching us the art of creating the perfect bun. Starting at 10.00am, this is the perfect place to pick up some useful tips and tricks. All hair types are different, so come along and share some of your own knowledge and experience.
Spring Holiday Workshop
The Spring Holiday Workshop for our Senior students will be held in Parkes Hall on the following dates: 30 September, 1 October and 2 October. We are excited to welcome back Mr Kit Lethby, ARAD PDTC (Dip.) Royal Academy of Dancing Vocational Graded Examiner, to the Academy to run these workshops this year.

Last Classes Term 4 for Pre-Primary and Primary Transition Classes

Curriculum Dance
Independent Dance Festival
Redlands Dance 1 will be performing at the annual Independent Dance Festival on Friday 6 September at Inaburra School. The Festival is an exciting opportunity to showcase excellence in Dance in Independent Schools with students from Kindergarten to Yr 12 from Independent Schools in the Sydney region. The Festival is an initiative created to develop a network of dance in Independent Schools, to further develop the performing arts culture in Independent Schools as well as providing performance opportunities for schools and students. If you would like to attend this event, please click here. Please note that the tickets are free, however you will still need to book so you are allocated a ticket.
Important Dates Term 3
Friday 23 August 1.00-4.00pm – HSC Dance Practical examinations
Friday 6 September – Independent Dance Festival all day rehearsal and performance in the evening
