Student Achievements
We are delighted to congratulate Angus McLachlan in his pursuits this week. Firstly Angus made the final of the IRBD Junior Classical Ballet Scholarship on the weekend and placed 3rd out of 36 candidates. Angus then placed 2nd in his 13&U Classical Ballet Variation. We all congratulate Angus and wish him luck in his next steps!
Class Watching Days
We are right in the middle of class watching week. Do come and join us on either 11 or 12 April. (No classes Saturday 13 April) You are welcome to all classes except the Ballet/Jazz and Contemporary Performance Groups on those days. For full details see Redlands Pulse and the Ballet noticeboard. The students have also been sent home with a note.
Kinetica Physiotherapy
Deb Wright from Kinetica Physiotherapy is a passionate Dance Physiotherapist. Having trained in Solo Seal and 20 years of Dance Physiotherapy experience, she loves imparting knowledge on safe dancing, dancer wellness and injury prevention. Read here what she has to say on the Pre Pointe Journey.
Friends of Ballet and Dance Morning Tea
The FOBD morning tea will take place in Parkes Hall on Thursday 30 May 9.00-10.30am. Everyone is welcome! Please let our new parents know. Last year was a great success so come along and meet the Academy staff, FOBD and other parents.
Holiday Workshops
The Easter holiday Ballet RAD Workshops are on 15-16 April. We will be doing the Ballet Grades as well as the Senior Ballet Performance Group Rehearsals. If you have not already responded please do so ASAP. We must let the school know who comes to class during the holidays.
The Easter holiday Jazz Performance Group Workshops are on Saturday 13 April.

Note: Let us know if your child is attending.
Lost Property
As we embark on the last week of term, do come and check for your lost property including water bottles! We simply cannot keep any of these items so they will be removed at the end of term.
Uniform Update
Please note that the new school sports tracksuit is now available in the Uniform Shop. It is a mandatory requirement for our Dance students to wear the tracksuit when participating in Eisteddfods outside school.
Please also remember that the Jazz top (available in the Uniform Shop) will be mandatory as of Semester 2.
RAD Exams
The Senior RAD Exams will be held around the 24-28 June, Term 2.
The RAD Junior Grades and Senior exams will be around the 13 September, Term 3 (Exact dates to be confirmed).
Eisteddfods – PLEASE NOTE – New Dates
The dates for our Eisteddfods:
Junior Ballet Performance Group: 24 May and 23 June
Senior Ballet Performance Group: 4 August
Junior Jazz Performance Group: 23 June and 2/3 August
Senior Jazz Performance Group: 2/3 August and 4 August
Senior Contemporary Performance Group: 2/3 August and 4 August
Letters will be sent to the students required.
Note From Teachers – Especially to All Prep Students
Please bring hairbrush, hair net and pins to Ballet. We need the girls hair to be tied up and looking nice and tidy for Ballet. All hair must be up please!
Edumate
Please check your child’s Ballet and Dance timetable/profile to determine that they are attending the correct classes. Do let the office know if there are any discrepancies.
