Ballet and Dance
Term 1 Wrap

What a wonderful term we have had at the Academy, finishing off with two weeks of Class Watching where students had the opportunity to show off all the hard work and dedication that has gone into their training. Thank you to all our parents and extended family and friends, for taking time out of your days to support your children, their teachers and the Academy. It was particularly special to see the senior students spreading their wings in Redlands Hall on Saturday 1 April when they presented snapshots of all genres from Character to Hip Hop, Tap, Jazz and Ballet through-out the day.
In conversation with our Dance faculty, we have all agreed that on the whole attendance is up, students are focused, and are beginning to see the benefits of being well-groomed and prepared for classes.

Term 2 Hair Etiquette for Dance
We have been very impressed and delighted to see so many of our younger dancers coming to class with their hair in a bun, ready for dance.
With this in mind, from Term 2 it would be greatly appreciated if all students could arrive at school with their hair already in buns. Staff will of course be on hand to tidy up any wispy bits before class.
All students also need to bring their own hair kits to class each week, as the Academy will no longer be providing hair accessories.

From Year 4 students will be encouraged to do their own hair.
Please stock up on pins and nets over the holidays and try to spend some time practicing how to perfect your buns. Teachers will be rewarding students for neat hair.
Dance Competitions
Chookas to Imogen Jeffery-Bilich who is competing at the Alana Haines Australasian Awards in Wellington, New Zealand this week. We are all looking forward to hearing all about it!

Also continued thoughts for Dante who has been dancing beautifully at the YAGP in Tampa, Florida.
