Cancelled Classes – Week 4

Due to the Junior School Swimming Carnival taking place on Wednesday 22 February, we have cancelled our Character Year 5/6 Ballet class at 3:45pm and our Junior Ballet Performers classes at 1:30pm and 2:30pm.

Junior School Library

The Junior School Library is open until 4pm Monday to Friday and we encourage our Junior dancers to go to the Library to study prior to the start of their Academy classes. Students need to wear their school uniform and follow the Library rules. Please note that students can read, do homework or study in the library but cannot use this space to change into their Dance uniforms or rehearse/dance.

When the Library closes at 4pm, students will have plenty of time to change into their Dance uniform and warm up for their classes in Parkes Hall. Alternatively, students can sign up for Ballet Club.

Ballet Club

The Ballet and Dance Academy are passionate about our students learning more about dance than just how to point their feet. Ballet Club is being run by Ms Maria, who has a vast knowledge of the history of dance, anatomy, etiquette, ballet productions, costumes etc and has developed a wonderful program to cater for all age groups. We would like to offer students a free trial session next week. Please complete this form if your child would be interested in signing up for this free trial (class times below)

Tuesday:  3.30-4.30pm Year 4/5/6  (before their Ballet class)

Tuesday: Year 1/2/3 (after their Ballet class)

Thursday: 3.30-4.30pm Year 3/4

Thursday: 4.30-5.30pm Year 2

Uniform for Dance
A reminder to parents of our younger dancers to please write your child’s name on all their Dance clothes, shoes and bags. This makes it far easier for us to reunite students with their dance uniforms, should items be left in the studios.

Hair for Dance

As we are teaching our Prep students the importance of having neat and tidy hair for Dance, could you please pack a hair net, hair grips and pins and a hairbrush each time they come to Dance, so our team can help them do their hair.

New Parent Pick-up Point for Redlands House and Prep Students

From Monday 20 February we have a new after class parent pick-up point for our Redlands House and Prep dancers. Please see the Junior Campus map below.

Please check the time your child’s dance class ends to ensure you are at the pick-up point on time.

A reminder that after pick-up you can exit the school via the Murdoch Street gate, which is open until 4pm, or via the gate near Junior School Reception to Allister Street. Prep Reception should not be used.

Please note that children are not allowed to play on the play equipment without Redlands staff supervision. This means no play on the equipment after Dance.
