Year 11

Celebration of Academic Achievement & Growth Assembly

This week, Yr 11 celebrated the successes of Yr 12 2023 at their Academic Achievement and Growth Assembly. It was a wonderful opportunity for Yr 11 to consider what lies ahead in terms of planning and how best to prepare for their senior years to ensure success and growth. As parents, preparing and supporting your teens through their senior studies is crucial for their academic success and overall wellbeing.

  • Establish open communication channels to understand their goals, challenges and anxieties.
  • Encourage them to create a realistic study schedule that balances academics, extracurricular activities and downtime.
  • Help them to set achievable short-term goals to stay motivated and track progress.
  • Offer emotional support during stressful periods, reminding them that setbacks are part of the learning process.
  • Encourage healthy habits such as regular exercise, nutritious meals and sufficient sleep to optimise cognitive function.
  • Provide a conducive study environment free from distractions.
  • Offer guidance on effective study techniques and time management strategies.
  • Celebrate their achievements and acknowledge their efforts, fostering confidence and resilience.
  • Emphasise the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance and seeking help when needed.

By nurturing a supportive and empowering environment, we can help navigate senior studies with confidence and success.

Swimming Carnival

The Secondary School Swimming Carnival was a memorable event, marked by spirited competition and camaraderie. Throughout the day, students displayed their swimming skills with determination and enthusiasm, supported by cheers from their peers. From the warm-up laps to the final races, the pool buzzed with excitement. The carnival provided an opportunity for students to showcase their skills and foster a sense of community within the school. It was a day filled with friendly rivalry and sportsmanship. Congratulations to all students who participated and contributed to their House points.

Congratulations to Cowper for winning the carnival, and to the following students who were Age Champion Runner Ups for their age group:

  • Annabelle Hwang (17 Girls)
  • Lachlan Green (17 Boys)
