New Learning Hub – Visual Arts

I had a chance to visit the ground floor of the New Learning Hub and talk to the Head of Visual Arts, Mr Mark Harpley. I have learnt that apart from four art classrooms, students can use a wet ceramic area, a dark room for photography, and an enquiry zone for independent study. There is plenty of storage and easy access for supplies. An outdoor area will be also used for teaching and learning once completed. Classrooms are equipped with whiteboards which can be used interactively with the projector.

Mr Harpley also shared with me the excitement about our Yrs 11-12 students exhibiting their artwork at Dominik Mersch Gallery from 9-12 July, arranged by our Yr 12 Prefect and Visual Arts Captain Sunday Stephens.

Legacy Gift of Class of 2020 – The Tradition Continues

Thank you sincerely to those families and members of our community who have already contributed to the gift of the Class of 2020. Your support means a lot and is very encouraging for our Yr 12 students whose goal is to purchase a ping pong table to be situated in the green space around the Learning Hub and to contribute funds to the Redlands Foundation Scholarship Fund.

Their first fundraising initiative has launched – a Yr 12 tea towel, featuring students’ hand-drawn faces. Both these options are beautiful gifts for family and friends and make a lovely memory for your Redlander. Orders are appreciated by the end of Term 2 and will be ready for collection in Term 3.
