Joy
Everyone is back, everyone is learning, everyone is happy!
Words cannot express my joy as I walk the verandas and the playgrounds this week. Seeing everyone back leaves me with a warm heart and a yearning to get to know everything Redlands! This week I popped in and out of classrooms and I watched castles being built, French being spoken, letters and sounds being manipulated into words, stories being constructed and so much more. The images today reflect some of our learning that happened this week, capturing the creativity, concentration and learning experiences of the week. I am so proud of our Prep students as they stepped back into the On-Campus Learning space with ease and courage.
Road Safety
With increased cars around the school at drop off and pick up, please be reminded to never choose convenience over safety. We have had a couple of near misses and in particular, please be aware that the speed limit around schools is 40km/hr. Alarmingly, a number of cars have been seen speeding up Allister St, the major road for pick ups for the Campus.
Week 6
To ensure the health and safety of our students and families, measures that were in place surrounding temperature checking, car drop off and pick up and social distancing will remain in place in Week 6.
Extra Curricular Clubs or activities will also remain closed until further notice. Thank you again for your patience as we navigate through another week.
What is National Reconciliation Week?
Every year, National Reconciliation Week is celebrated from 27 May – 3 June. It is a time dedicated to building positive, respectful relationships between Australians and celebrating indigenous culture. The overarching aim of this period is to explore how we can best contribute to the reconciliation process. Every year there is a theme attributed to National Reconciliation Week, which reinforces the idea that we all have a part of play. The theme for 2020 In This Together is a tribute to that. Next week our students will be exploring and sharing indigenous stories and talking about the importance of respecting and honouring the culture and tradition.
