From the Principal
We are all very excited to be welcoming all students back on campus on Monday and details regarding our plans for the Senior and Junior Campuses are being communicated by the Heads of Section.
I am most pleased to announce that our Secondary School students will not only all be back on Monday, but they can look forward to having their lessons in the New Learning Hub. This is a most significant milestone in the project and will be a wonderful boost for the school community.
The new facilities are exceptional and will provide an inspirational new learning environment for the students. As part of a sneak preview for the students, our School Captains James Reid and Isabel Simpson took a tour today with the Redlands Rhino, to film the interior. We will be producing further, let us say more professional video footage, in the days ahead; however, I know that our community will be interested to see this video at this early stage.
My sincere thanks to all members of our community who have supported this project in so many ways. I know that you share our enthusiasm for the development, and we look forward to the official opening later this year, when we aim to be able to celebrate together.
My thanks to our University and Careers Advisor, Simone Salier and Alumni Manager, Caroline Jane for their work in setting up our virtual Careers Week events this week. Janine Garner and Matt Church provided inspirational and passionate presentations on networking and leading in the decade of disruption, that provided a rich source of information and thought-provoking concepts.
One of the benefits of running our Alumni Speed Networking event online is that we have been able to involve Redlanders who are living overseas. My thanks to all Redlanders for their incredible support and for giving back to their school community in this tangible way. I know that the students will greatly appreciate sharing in their wisdom and experience.
We are also very much looking forward to the Great Debate on Friday. I wish the student team all the best as they go up against a hardened staff team on the topic of ‘It’s not what you know but who you know that determines success in your career’. I am confident I know which side of the debate Janine Garner would be on!
On behalf of our staff, I would like to sincerely thank the RPFA and all of the other parents and students who so very kindly put on a special staff morning tea at the end of last week and also provided some lovely treats, which have been very much appreciated.
Finally, in terms of our social media presence, Redlands is now on Instagram in addition to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube. Please join our Redlands online community via the following links:
