Year 10

It was fantastic to see Yr 10 on Tuesday and how excited they were to be back on campus for the day. There was a high level of energy and collegiality throughout the day and it was clear the students had missed each other over the past few weeks. I am sure they are already looking forward to next Tuesday, as are all of us.

Half Yearly Examinations

A reminder that students will be sitting their Half Yearly exams on Friday 15 May and Monday 18 May. The exam timetable has been sent to them and can also be found on the Pastoral page under Important Information. The students have been told that it is a reduced number of exams, being Maths, Languages, Science and Dance only. During these two days, students will not have normal Zoom classes, with the exception of still being required to attend Tutor sessions. Students have been told to ask their class teachers if they have any questions as to the processes involved, and also to communicate effectively with them if they have any technological issues during the exams. If you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Careers Information

Students will shortly begin the process of deciding their choices of HSC or IB subjects for 2021-22. Ms Salier, our Careers Advisor, spoke to half of the students on Tuesday about this process and will be speaking to the other half next Tuesday.

Next week is National Careers Week and Ms Salier has organised a number of activities to take place during the week. She will be sending further information to parents and students as to how to access some of the keynote speakers and the events, which are also included here:

As we all remain in some form of lockdown, our wonderful Redlands online sport program has enabled our students to continue to work on fitness with lots of interesting and fun activities. I am sure the students are missing the connection with the team sports that they love playing as I know I have been struggling with not being able to play the sports that I love also. This week I have attached a link to the World Athletics website which is an amusing read with some interesting videos and facts, and also has additional lockdown exercises to keep you fit, focused and sane.
