Important Dates

School Photographs

The following photographs will be taken by Advanced Life on Wednesday 11 March on the Senior Campus. Students are required to wear blazers.

• Sibling photos in the Redlands Hall from 7.15 – 8.20am. Junior School siblings are welcome to have their photo taken on 11 March if they were unable to attend the Junior Campus sibling photo day last week.
• Yr 7 Portrait photographs in Redlands Hall from 10.30am.
• Cocurricular Dance, Debating, Senior Acting, Theatresports and Theatre Production at the Military Rd Garden during recess and lunch.
• Ballet and Dance Academy Yrs 9-12 at 1.00pm
• Ballet and Dance Academy Yrs 7-8 at 1.15pm

Order envelopes are available from the Secondary School Office and orders for photography packages can also be placed securely online at www.advancedlife.com.au using our School Order Code: NWL 4NR ETY. Portrait and group package orders are due by photography day. Should you have any queries concerning school photographs or online ordering, please direct them to enquiries@advancedlife.com.au.

Friends of Ballet and Dance Morning Tea

FOBD and Ms Karen Martin would like to invite you to a Morning Tea on Thursday 26 March from 8.30-10.00am in Parkes Hall. This is a great opportunity to chat to other parents in different Year Groups. 

Tea and coffee will be provided, please bring a small plate to share if possible. 

Second Hand Sale

To do our part in helping to save the planet, we will be selling (for a very small fee) second hand RAD uniforms including character and tap shoes at the FOBD morning tea. We also have some Ballet bun boxes to sell. 

If you have any good quality RAD uniform that your child no longer needs, please drop them into the Donations tub in Parkes Hall. 

Student Achievements

Congratulations to Dante Minassian (Yr 6) who has made it through to the Finals in the Joan and Monica Halliday competition at the RAD.

We also congratulate Summer-Eve Smyth (pictured at top) and Imogen Jeffrey-Bilich who made it through to the Semi Finals in the Isobel Andersen Memorial Award. 

Well done to all students who participated in both these highly regarded competitions and we wish Dante, Imogen and Summer all the very best for the next steps!

External Audition

The Joffrey Academy of Dance Summer Intensive Audition

Sunday 26 April at St Columba Community Centre, Woollahra. Held by Karin Ellis Wentz, Head of Joffrey Academy Chicago’s pre-professional program. The Joffrey Academy Chicago is the official school of the Joffrey Ballet. Click here for more information. 

Giving Australian students audition experience from a world class master teacher, this audition will also provide a chance to be invited to the Joffrey Academy Chicago’s five week summer intensive running from June to July. At present, Australian dancers have excelled with excellent results with many climbing the ranks into the Conservatory Company.

Audition applications are now closed. Audition time slots and information from the student briefing are available here. Tickets will be on sale after the contestants are announced at the end of Term 1. Mark your diary with this wonderful event for Performing Arts at Redlands. It is always an exceptional evening as we celebrate the talents of our students.
