Important Guidelines

Our objective is for all Redlands Junior School students to follow three guidelines when they are playing sport, be it Representative Sport or Non-Representative Sport – right place, right time, right equipment.

The online live draw with venue addresses and online team lists (please check these each Friday for changes) will assist you in achieving these three things.

Please ensure your child is at the venue 30 minutes before the scheduled start time in the correct uniform with the correct equipment.

Please complete an online absence form ahead of time so we can plan a replacement well ahead of time.

Redlands Pulse Update

There have been significant updates to the Junior School Sports pages on Redlands Pulse. Please visit these pages regularly, in particular the Winter Sport pages.

Winter Sport Nominations

Nominations for Winter Sport (Rep and Non-Rep) were due Friday 14 February via online submission. The results of these are now available for parents to view on Redlands Pulse.

Swimming Carnival

Our annual Junior School Swimming Carnival took place at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre yesterday. In the first of our big three Carnivals, there was much excitement leading up to the first race, our youngest swimmers being the Under 8s and Under 9s 25m Freestyle event.

With the introduction of the entrant number system this year, we can track the participation rate of all Houses as well as being able to provide feedback to students across their Age Groups in the strokes they entered.

Thank you to the parents and families who attended with a special mention for those parents who volunteered on the day in various capacities. Without your assistance it would not have been a success.

Congratulations to Cowper who won the House cup. Congratulations to Cowper Captains Lola Brasler and Digby Scott who led their team to victory.

Prior to the Carnival, students were informed that a House would be selected, regardless of the overall winner, who demonstrated outstanding spirit and support throughout the Carnival. House Spirit points were tallied throughout the day and, despite having numerous students swimming in events, the winning House was Roseby. Special mention to our parents who danced most of the day to keep their Houses entertained between breaks in races.

Swimming Photos

We had photographers from Anthony Khoury Photography at the Carnival taking photos of the day. These will be uploaded shortly and can only be viewed with a code which we will email out to families.

Round 1 Girls Sport

New goals, new corner posts, new player benches, some new coaches, a few nerves and a beautiful morning to commence our Junior Girls Representatives Football season taking on Roseville, Wenona, Queenwood and Kambala at home. The Redlands Oval is now a central venue for our season and an excellent home ground advantage in the five a side competition. We also have the Canteen open serving refreshments to families. This season we have five teams in the competition, 6A, 6B, 5A, 5B and a mixed team made up of girls from Yrs 3 and 4. We had three wins and two close losses in our first round but our coaching staff were pleased considering the short time they have had with them.

From Round 2, IPSHA laws dictate that girls will now be allowed to take the field if they are not wearing shin pads. Please note coaches do not carry spare shin pads. Can we also ensure that girls have the correct Football uniform, that is the Football shirt available from the Uniform Shop, Redlands Football socks, shin pads and their school PE shorts. Girls may wear moulded Football boots.
