Mary’s House Christmas Gift Wrapping

Again this year, students in Yrs 10 and 11 have an opportunity to sign up to volunteer at the Myer Christmas Gift Wrapping stand. Volunteers are needed to assist with Christmas gift wrapping at Myer Chatswood in the school holidays. All funds raised are donated to Mary’s House, a shelter in the North Shore of Sydney supporting women and their children who need help because of domestic violence.

Anglicare Toys ‘n’ Tucker 

Please consider making a contribution to our Christmas donations drive. Add a couple of small things to your christmas shopping list to go towards the Redlands Anglicare Toys ‘n’ Tucker drive. Anglicare aim to share the joy of Christmas with people in need through Toys ‘n’ Tucker. Throughout November we will be seeking donations through Tutor Groups for a range of items on the shopping list below. Next time you are at the supermarket consider picking up something extra to bring in for the collection. Nothing needs to be wrapped as all items will be sent to Anglicare who will then make up family specific boxes to be distributed. Your donations will mean that another family will have some of the Christmas cheers that we may take for granted.

Young People’s Plan for the Planet Team

A small team of Redlands students are in the final stages of planning to represent the school and the state of NSW at the It’s our Future Earth 3.0 Conference in Singapore at the beginning of December. Lachlan van der Pluijm (Yr 12), Aymon Holth and Aayushi Singh (Yr 11) and Max Currie and Olivia Reid (Yr 10) have worked with an extended team throughout this year and are now looking forward to collaborating with students from schools from across Australia, Singapore, India,and Mauritius. This STEM project provides students with an opportunity to meaningfully apply their knowledge and skills to address the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and identify meaningful strategies to improve sustainability for NSW.
