Important Dates

Message from The Ballet and Dance Office

Please can we ask that all Senior students and parents, as well as parents of all Ballet and Dance students in the Junior and Prep Schools, read the EOYC parent concert letter on Redlands Pulse. This letter was previously sent to all parents/carers and contains detailed information for the EOYC, including rehearsals and costume requirements. If you have any problems at all accessing Redlands Pulse or have not received the letter via email, please let us know. 

Student Achievement

Our Ballet and Dance students continue to make waves all over the world. This weekend Dante Minassian in Yr 5 received confirmation that he is through to the finals of the YAGP in New York next April. Congratulations Dante, what a fantastic achievement.

Make Up Requirements

As in previous years, all make up for the Preparatory and Junior school students is provided and applied by Redlands staff and parent volunteers on the day of the Concert. However, we do have a number of students with allergies and therefore we do offer the option of students bringing their own make up on the day.

All students need to bring their own black mascara. Any black mascara will do, however we do recommend Maybelline Sensational Lash, as its tends to be smudge proof and longer wearing. 

For those students who wish to bring their own make up, we are applying a pink lipstick for Cinderella (Ballet – Act 1) and red for Jazz, Contemporary and Tap (Act 2). The red lipstick is a typical fire engine red and can be found across any brand of lipstick. The pink lipstick is a softer rose inspired pink. Suggestions are Rose Records (Rimmel), Softsilver Rose (Revlon) and Raspberry Ripple (Sports Girl).

Both the Rimmel and Revlon lipsticks can be found at any Priceline or Chemist Warehouse. 

The eye shadow we will apply to all students is a subtle pink-light brown smoky eye. Again this is a common eye shadow palette found across all make up brands. A few suggestions that can be purchased from Priceline, Chemist Warehouse or even your local supermarket are Revlon 505 Decadent and Maybelline City Mini Palette.

Concert Volunteers 

Thank you to everyone for signing up for the Concert. The SignUp Genius link will be sent to volunteers to pick their chosen volunteer time slots on Concert Days. We also require post Concert support in the week starting 2, 3, 4 and 5 December. This will include sorting and washing for the Concert. You can sign up for this too in the SignUp Genius link.

EOYC Rehearsals in Parkes Hall

Please remember that we have a full compulsory Jazz rehearsal on Sunday 24 November.

Jazz students Levels 2, 3, 4 and 5: 10.00am-1.00pm
Primary and Level 1 Jazz students: 11.30 – 1.00pm
All Senior Jazz students (Ms Marcia and Ms Shannon’s classes): 12.00-3.00pm

Please note the following arrival times for Saturday 30 November at The Concourse Theatre: Levels 1 and 2 Tap students 11.00am; Primary and Grade 1 Jazz and Ballet students 12.00pm.

Lost Property

Please come and pick up all lost property by the last week of school. After this time, everything left will go to charity.

Yoga Mats

Please collect all yoga mats by end of term or they will be donated.

2020 Enrolment

2020 class enrolments are now closed for current students. Any changes or questions, please let the office know. If you are a new student, please enquire about 2020 places.

Curriculum Dance

EOYC

Yrs 8-11 Curriculum Dance will be performing at the annual Ballet and Dance Concert on Friday 29 November. All costume information has been provided to students. A letter has been sent out to all students detailing the rehearsal and performance times. Please let us know if you did not receive it. The letter is also posted on Redlands Pulse.
