Student News

Angus McLachlan (pictured at top) has had a fantastic week. Firstly, The Australian Ballet has engaged Angus as a child supernumerary in The Australian Ballet’s season of Peter Wright’s The Nutcracker at Joan Sutherland Theatre, Sydney Opera House, commencing on 12 November.

Additionally, Angus has received a short term scholarship to the ABT JKO School based on his contribution at the recent YAGP in Brisbane. Congratulations Angus! 

We would also like to recognise and congratulate all students who have taken their RAD exam so far this round: Isabella Ilic, Sara Vencalkova, Alyssa Tinetti, Nina Casey Brown, Jade Patrick, Katie Wightwick, Elina Filatova. Well done to all our hard working Senior exam students!

EOYC

Our parent information letter has been sent out to Yrs 1, 2, Junior and Senior Dance students. Please let us know if you did not receive it and read it carefully as there is detailed information regarding rehearsal and performance times. The letter is also posted on Redlands Pulse.

Parents have been sent a request for approval for the rehearsals at The Concourse leading up to the concert. Please approve to ensure we can take all students on the buses without issues.

The End of Year Concert tickets will go on sale on Tuesday 29 October at 10.00am. Please contact The Concourse or call 1300 795 012 (Ticketek).

2020 Enrolment

2020 class enrolments are now open. Please note that you must respond by 11 November with any changes to the student classes in 2020 to avoid late fees. Again, if you did not receive an invitation email to enrol, please let the office know.

Preparation for EOYC

Sewing / Working Bees

Only one more sewing bee to come! Last chance to join our phenomenal team of helpers. Come and see for yourself and join the fun on 2 November from 8.30am – 2.00pm. Even if you can’t sew, we have plenty of jobs that involve creating, glueing, tidying and organising. It’s a great way to catch up with other Dance parents so come along for a chat.

Concert Volunteers 

Hair and Make-up Tutorial – Don’t forget to come to the Music Room (next to Parkes Hall) on Saturday to learn how the students hair and make-up will be done for the Concert.

We would love your help backstage on Concert days especially with students hair and make-up. Here is the procedure:

• Volunteers email the Ballet and Dance office with your intention to help, include your WWC number and ID.
• List of volunteers sent to Redlands HR for Verification and Clearance to work with children
• Cleared Volunteer List sent to Parent Coordinator
• Volunteers attend a Concert Hair and Make-Up Tutorial (2nd Nov)
• SignUp Genius link sent to volunteers to pick their chosen volunteer time slots on Concert Days.

We also require post Concert support week starting 2 December. This would include sorting, washing and additional help to finalise the 2019 Concert (in Parkes Hall).

Curriculum Dance

EOYC

Yrs 8-11 Curriculum Dance will be performing at the annual Ballet and Dance Concert on Friday 29 November. All costume information has been provided to students.  A letter has been sent out to all students detailing the rehearsal and performance times. Please let us know if you did not receive it. The letter is also posted on Redlands Pulse.

EOYC – Curriculum works will only be performed on Friday 29 November at The Concourse, Chatswood.
