Congratulations to Yr 7 students who participated in the ISA Athletics Carnival this week: Isaac Brooks, Henry Charles, Jessica Coleman, Grace Durrant, Lara Farrell, Xander Halfen, Julius Keller, Andrew Kinghorn, Daniel Lev, Liam McFarlane, Angela Monty, Zara Naismith, Eva Osborn, Charlie Parker, Gianmarco Pradel, Sophia Rolon, Sofia Thorne and Mitchell Travers Wolf. A few highlights include: Junior Girls Shield, Intermediate Girls Shield, Overall Girls Shield (for the first time since 1997), Henry Charles winning the U13 Discus and Javelin and Liam McFarlane holding his lead to win the U12 800m.

Last week, Yr 7 had a special presentation from our Dean of Activities, Mr Simon Colyer. Mr Colyer shared information pertaining to student service opportunities, school activities and clubs as well as a special message around the importance of getting involved as much as possible. Redlands has many opportunities for students to try new things or find something they are truly passionate about and he encouraged all students to try something new each year. We thank Mr Colyer for his time and his important words shared with the cohort.

Basketball photos this week were taken from the first week of Summer Season practice.

Other Announcements and Upcoming Events

Students will be completing their Term 3 Effort Grades this week after reflecting on their term goals and marking their own diligence, engagement and behaviour in each class.

Students have been reminded this week that they are expected to be in full school uniform to and from school as well as to change back into their school uniform after PE at the earliest possible opportunity: Recess, Lunch or after school.

We appreciate your support in reminding students to always lock their personal belongings in their locker with a working lock. Many students are leaving belongings in Liggins Quad and, inadvertently, items are being picked up by other students. It is important we manage and take responsibility for our own items. Thank you for your support.

This is a reminder that all Assessment Notifications are released to parents and students at least two weeks prior to the due date.  Students are alerted of these notifications through iLearn and parents are able to access them in the Parent Portal.

Pastoral Care

This term, our Pastoral Program focuses on self-reflection for behaviour management utilising the flowchart What happened? What did you think about it? How did you feel about it? How did you behave?

We will continue to touch on digital citizenship, summarising notes and study skills with help from Dr Prue Salter’s Study Skills website and we will begin to focus specifically on the first three habits from 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey.
