Service and Social Engagement
Greenlands Week
This week we have been engaged in environmental and sustainability thinking in the Secondary School. We had a whole school assembly led by our Environment Prefects and the rest of the student leadership team. The student leaders have been selling raffle tickets and Environment Club have held a cake stall to raise funds for the The Giraffe Conservation Foundation to make a contribution towards saving the giraffe from extinction.
On Friday we will be having a mufti day. Students and staff are encouraged to wear green or animal print in return for a $2 donation. Students who have after school commitments (such as debating) are reminded to bring their uniform, and those with PE need to change into PE uniform as they would on any other day.
Yr 12 Blackmores Run for Headspace
Our Yr 12 students are organising the Redlands Team for the Blackmores Run on 15 September. Everyone is encouraged to participate and the basic run is 10km however there are shorter and longer options. Prefects will be selling support badges at the school gates in the week before the event at a cost of $2. Their goal is to match the number of runners and funds raised from last year. Come and join in or make a donation using the links below.

Cambodia Students Fundraising
Students are now in the final stages of preparations for their trip to Cambodia at the end of the year. They are finishing off their fundraising for the project work they will undertake and for the support we will be providing to our friends at M’Lop Tapang in Sihanoukville.
Fiji Team
Our students travelling to Fiji in the coming school holidays are also on their final countdown and getting excited. They have raised some funds for their community project and are looking forward to spending some time in a local community learning about the Fijian way of life and culture.
Young People’s Plan for the Planet
The Young People’s Plan for the Planet team are continuing to meet on a regular basis at lunch time and are now at the stage of turning their research into focused strategies for NSW to address each of the Sustainable Development Goals. We are hoping to have our full report finalised early in Term 4.
