Year 7
Greenlands Week – 5/6 September
It is Greenlands Week at Redlands! Students learned about endangered animals, especially Giraffes, at our Prefect Assembly on Tuesday that funds raised this week will support and there was a Waste Audit today at lunch. Students are also participating in a Tutor Quiz on Oceans and purchasing delicious treats from the Greenlands Bake Sale and there are a couple of major events organised by the Environment Prefects and Prefect Body:
Thursday 5 September: Redlands will be hosting a school community screening of 2040 at the Orpheum Cinema at 6.00pm. All proceeds from this event go towards environmental initiatives at Redlands. Bookings can be made through TryBooking.
Friday 6 September: The Secondary School will be holding a mufti day with a gold coin donation (funds raised going to GCF). Students may wear green or animal themed attire on the day. All proceeds will go to the Giraffe Conservation Program at Taronga Zoo.

Other Announcements and Upcoming Events
- We appreciate your support in reminding students to always lock their personal belongings in their locker with a working lock. Many students are leaving belongings in Liggins Quad and, inadvertently, items are being picked up by other students. It is important we manage and take responsibility for our own items. Thank you for your support.
- This is a reminder that all Assessment Notifications are released to parents and students at least two weeks prior to the due date. Students are alerted of these notifications through iLearn and parents are able to access them in the Parent Portal.

Pastoral Care
This term, our Pastoral Program focuses on self-reflection for behaviour management utilising the flowchart What happened? What did you think about it? How did you feel about it? How did you behave?.
We will continue to touch on digital citizenship, summarising notes and study skills with help from Dr Prue Salter’s Study Skills website and we will begin to focus specifically on the first three habits from 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey.
