Greenlands Week – 5/6 September
As part of our celebration of Greenlands Week in Week 7, there are a number of environmental themed activities led by the Environment Prefects and Prefect body.
Thursday 5 September: Redlands will be hosting a school community screening of 2040 at the Orpheum Cinema at 6.00pm. All proceeds from this event go towards environmental initiatives at Redlands. Bookings can be made through TryBooking.
Friday 6 September: The Secondary School will be holding a mufti day with a gold coin donation (funds raised going to GCF). Students may wear green or animal themed attire on the day. All proceeds will go to the Giraffe Conservation Program at Taronga Zoo.
Interesting Article of the Week
This week, remembering how tiring it is trying to be a parent and work full time, I found this article which made me laugh a little and realise that there are many parents going through the same scenarios every day. I hope you enjoy the read!
Winter School
It was fantastic to see the large number of Yr 9 students at Winter School last week and spend time with them both in the classroom and on the slopes. They all appear to be having an amazing time and developing close friendships with their peers. The staff looking after them are incredibly caring and professional and I am sure that the experience will lead to wonderful life-long memories for the students.
NSW Interschools Snowsports Championships
Congratulations to the following participants who achieved some excellent results last week: Tess Callaghan, Zac Corneil,Sean Farrell, Callie Forest, Harrison Fung, Ben Harrington, Sophie Kennedy, Mia Kloiser-Jones and Billy Thomas.
Pastoral Care Program
This week students have been looking at how they can manage balancing school and other commitments with a part time job.
Social Awareness Program
Students have begun looking at organisations that aim to reduce inequality in refugee communities.
I hope you have a wonderful week.
