Gala Ball
More than 570 parents and friends of Redlands attended the Gala Ball at the Westin Hotel last Saturday evening. There has been much very positive feedback that a most enjoyable evening was had by all. I wish to thank Mrs Dana Casimaty, our Foundation Director, her team and the many other staff and volunteers, who put in such great efforts to make the event a memorable one. Thank you so much to those Redlands parents who donated prizes for the silent and live auctions and those who so competitively bidded for the auction items. Four young alumni, three of whom held Scholarships at Redlands, did an excellent job in entertaining the crowd. Abe Mitchell (2005) valiantly performed his role as MC, and three of our recent Performing Arts stars, who are continuing careers in this area – Embla Bishop (2013), Luke Haberecht (2014) and Greta Argyropoulos (2017) – entertained us all during the evening with some fine music.
Donations towards a third means-tested Scholarship are still welcome, especially from those who could not join us on the night. For more information and for photos, please visit the Foundation section in this week’s Note Day.
Communications Audit
Thank you to the parents who contributed to our Communications Audit last term through the completion of our survey. We do welcome our community’s feedback, and major surveys like this are an important way of gathering parent input across the School. We will be receiving the full results of this audit in the coming week and once our team has had the opportunity to reflect upon the report, we will be providing you with an update about future improvements you can expect.
ISA Finals
Following many hard fought battles last Saturday, six Football, Hockey and Netball teams have progressed to the Finals this coming Saturday. I wish them all the very best and encourage Secondary School students to come along and support their friends and the teams. I remind all student supporters that they must come in correct School uniform.
I also wish to congratulate the four Tennis teams that were victorious in the ISA Finals last weekend – the 1sts, 3rds, 4ths and 6ths, with the 1sts winning the ISA Division 1 shield for the first time since 2012. More details about their wonderful success can be found in the Sports Section of this week’s Note Day.
