Gala Ball

Plenty of glamour, laughter and dancing was the order of the night last Saturday at the Redlands Gala Ball. The event was well represented by Preparatory and Redlands House families and I thank everyone most sincerely for their support of the School. Dana Casimaty and the Foundation team, the RPFA and parent volunteers gave so much of their time to make the evening so memorable. Redlands Alumni Greta Argyropoulos (Class of 2017), Embla Bishop (Class of 2013) and Luke Haberecht (Class of 2014) entertained the crowd and Abe Mitchell (Arts Captain, Class of 2005) was an outstanding Master of Ceremonies. Greta Argyropoulos shared her journey of being a scholarship recipient and how this enabled her to complete Yr 12 and pursue a career in Music. The enormous generosity of the Redlands community helped raise a substantial amount for the endowment means-tested Redlands Scholarship Fund to help a talented and deserving student who would otherwise not have the opportunity to receive a Redlands education.

Father’s Day Morning

This year, Redlands House are hosting an activity morning to celebrate Father’s Day on Friday 30 August from 9.00am to 10.00am. The Preschool drop off will be at the usual time and we look forward to welcoming those whose fathers would like to stay and join in on our morning activities. Mornings such as these can be busy, a reminder to be thoughtful of our neighbours and park safely in the surrounding areas. More information can be found on the Upcoming Events page.

Sustainability

Bottle tops are one of the top polluters found in our oceans our environment. Bottle tops are recyclable but are sadly often not recycled or fall through machinery, ending up in landfill or our oceans, turning into microplastic that is then introduced to our food chain. Envision are working towards creating a better future by collecting bottle tops to help children in need. Once collected, these bottle tops will be transformed into 3D filament, where they will be turned into prosthetic hands or bespoke items, such as ramps. Redlands House are supporting this important school strategic endeavour and will be collecting bottle tops to create a brighter future for children in need. Please drop off your cleaned bottle tops at either Prep Reception or Redlands House.

Transition to School

For children and their families, the transition to school is a significant milestone in a child’s education. When students have a positive experience with starting school, they can meet future changes throughout their education with trust and confidence. To assist in this transition, the Senior classes visited the Prep School on Wednesday to familiarise themselves with the playground, classrooms, bathrooms and Prep Reception area. Students were invited into classrooms to sit with Kindergarten classes. Next term, the children will have the opportunity to spend a day in Kindergarten and information pertaining to this will be sent to you in due course.
