SDN Competition

Congratulations to the Senior, Yr 10, Junior and Primary A teams who all had wins against Riverview last Friday.

This week is a Home debate against Roseville College. Students are requested to set up rooms at 3.30pm as Roseville College will be here early.

Yr 7 Inter-House Debates

The inaugural Yr 7 Inter-House Debate competition kicked off with a bang on Wednesday with Roseby debating Dumolo “that teachers should wear a teachers’ uniform at school”. The students who debated in front of the entire Year Group were both eloquent and courageous. Both sides had very good arguments but at the end of the day Dumolo won the debate arguing for the negative.

In the second robust Yr 7 debate, Cowper debated McDouall on whether we should welcome aliens in the event of an invasion. The teams were passionate and entertaining, the very close decision boiled down to one single point. The debate was awarded to Cowper who will face Dumolo in tomorrow’s final.

The finals of the Year 7 Inter-House Debate competition will be on Tutor Time this Friday and we look forward to both teams providing us with a high calibre debate once again.
