Year 12
Post Trial Examinations
Congratulations to all Yr 12 students on completing their Trial examinations. All the exam supervisors were very impressed with their punctuality, adherence to the rules and positive attitude. Mr Taylor also commended this exam period as one of the most smooth-running experiences during his time at Redlands so far. This week, our boys and girls were welcomed back to Campus and appeared to be more relaxed after many late nights and study sessions in the past few weeks. I hope they will continue to keep a good balance and look after both their physical and mental wellbeing.
Now that we are half way through this term, various events will take over their study at times. They are advised to stay organised and get prepared–noting down all important dates and allocating time for those important milestones. Maximise learning time where possible, analyse strengths and weaknesses reflected from the trial exams, consult with teachers for improvement strategies and outline an action plan.
In preparation for final examinations, a number of workshops have been organised for students, including The Year 12 Countdown with Dr Prue Salter, a stress management workshop with School Counsellors and an HSC English Trial Paper analysis workshop. We hope they will help students to move towards achieving their personal best in a stress-free way through their last few weeks of school.
Communication – Final Weeks
This week we sent letters to all Yr 12 students, parents and carers outlining the celebration events and preparations for the final weeks of this term. Please check your emails and familiarise yourself with the information.
Yr 12 Legacy Gift Fundraising Event
Last Friday night, a team of Yr 12 students – Asha Boswarva, Chloe Church, Elizabeth Davis, Zoe Kimber, Lindsay McNeil, Cameron Pascoe, Kieran Patel and Josiah Tea organised a fabulous movie night for Yr 7 students. Some of them were running games, some picking up pizzas, some packing the popcorn. Their thoughtful planning, clear task allocation and good communication skills guaranteed the success of this event. All the Yr 7 students and staff involved appreciated their teamwork spirit and leadership.
Yr 12 House Morning Tea
Through the coming weeks, the Heads of House have organised special morning teas during Tutor Time for Yr 12 students to celebrate their time together as a House over their years at Redlands. These morning teas will be an opportunity for students to relax, reflect on their progress so far and share memories of fun times at Carnivals, Gala Arts and other House events.
