Year 11

Welcome Back

A very warm welcome back! I hope that all Yr 11 students (and parents) were able to get some well needed down time. We have an exciting but busy Term 3 ahead of us with Prefect and Captain of Activities voting commencing this week.

Pastoral Care

Term 3 will have a big emphasis on sleep and how important it is for learning. We will focus on Professor Matthew Walker who is the Director at the Centre for Human Sleep Science.

Dr Walker earned his degree in Neuroscience from Nottingham University, UK, and his PhD in Neurophysiology from the Medical Research Council, London UK. He subsequently became a Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, USA. Currently, he is Professor of Neuroscience and Psychology at the University of California, Berkeley, USA. He is also the Founder and Director of the Centre for Human Sleep Science. Dr Walker’s research examines the impact of sleep on human health and disease.

Camp Forms

We ask that any Camp forms that haven’t been completed and returned to be done so soon please.

Race Week

Congratulations to all those students who competed down at Thredbo during the holidays. There were so many fantastic results from the Yr 11 cohort and I have been impressed with all the positive feedback I have received regarding their effort and attitude.

Exams Week

Yr 11 HSC/IB Exams – Monday 26 August to Friday 6 September.
