Year 9
Interesting Article of the Week
On the news this week on Monday evening was a segment on the use of ‘nangs’ by young people as a form of recreational drug. What is particularly disturbing, is how easy and legal it is for people to order them online or over the phone, with businesses clearly aware of the fact they are being used by young people in an inappropriate and dangerous manner but still supplying them in this way. This article makes for an informative read and is something we should all be aware of as parents, due to the potentially damaging effect it can have on our children’s health.
Athletics Carnival
The rain managed to stay away for our annual Athletics Carnival this Tuesday. It was great to see many Yr 9 boys and girls participating in the activities and having lots of fun. I look forward to the participation rate increasing in the coming years. Attending and participating in these events is really good for students’ mental and physical wellbeing, and also helps them bond with their friends, Year Group and school as a whole.
Uniform Regulations
With three weeks holiday from school coming up, we ask that you please make sure haircuts take place before returning to school on Tuesday 23 July, and also ensure uniform is at the appropriate length if your child has a growth spurt over the holidays. Currently we are also speaking to the girls about the school rules and expectations surrounding no make-up. Your support is greatly appreciated by checking before your daughter leaves for school that she is make-up free.
I hope you and your family have some quality time, rest and relaxation during the school holidays, and your child returns rejuvenated for Semester 2.
