Last Friday night Sandra and I enjoyed the delightful music performances at the Senior Music Festival, Back to the 80s, held at The Concourse, Chatswood. From the opening piece, Vivaldi’s Gloria in Excelsis Deo, performed by the choirs and advanced strings until the finale of the 1980’s classic Footloose performed by all Music students in support of a final on-stage presentation by all Year 12 Music students, the musical creativity and skills of the 250 students and staff was showcased. The night featured solo performances from Year 11 and 12 HSC and IB Music students through to ensemble performances from Choirs, Strings, Bands and Small Ensembles. I congratulate Coordinator of Music Mr Darren Kuilenburg, all of the talented Music teachers and tutors, and all of the other staff and parents who inspire our Music students to excel and display so much passion, confidence, talent and poise.

I also wish to sincerely thank our Secondary School Sports Department, the RPFA and the many parents, staff and students who supported the Redlands@Home Charity Sports Round last Saturday. Whether it was our Football, Hockey, Netball and Rugby teams competing in pink socks, or parents and staff assisting with the bake sale and BBQ, it is wonderful to learn that over $6000 was raised in support of the Breast Cancer Network Australia.
