The Music Department is pleased to announce the 2019 Music Composition Competition. This creative opportunity is designed for any aspiring young composer in Yrs 7-12 who is currently enrolled in the either the Academic Music program, Cocurricular Music Ensembles program or Extra Subjects program. Students are encouraged to continue developing original works for submission at the end of Term 2. Application forms are available from Music Reception.

Senior Campus Ensemble Rehearsal Attendance

Students are reminded about the importance of regular attendance to all Music Ensemble rehearsals and in meeting goals set at the start of the year in reaching a high standard of performance excellence. Morning rehearsals commence 7.15am and students should be moving to rehearsal rooms by 7.10am. Absence due to camp and/or illness will be the only accepted reason for non-attendance. It is essential that you contact seniormusic@redlands.nsw.edu.au if you are unable to attend any rehearsals.

Junior Campus

Junior Music Festival – Thursday 1 August

Music Through the Decades

Students in the Junior School are well-underway with their preparations for the annual Junior Music Festival in August. Students have been exploring music through the decades, in learning about The Beatles, Disco Music, Australian Rock Classics and Latin-Pop Music. Tickets will be on sale from Monday 24 June through Trybooking. More details to be provided at the end of the term.

Congratulations – Aneke Golowenke

The Music Department would like to congratulate Aneke who received a Highly Commended for Vocal Performance at the Sydney Eisteddfod over the weekend. This was her first singing Eisteddfod and she sang Bel Piacere by Handel.

Junior Campus Ensemble Rehearsal Attendance

A reminder that punctual attendance at all ensembles is an expectation of all students enrolled in Cocurricular Ensembles. Prep Ensembles commence at 7.45am, with supervision from 7.35am and Junior School Ensembles commence at 7.15am with supervision from 7.05am. The exception to these times are Junior Voices, Guitar Ensemble and Jazz Band which all commence promptly at 7.30am. Attendance is integral as all ensembles have begun rehearsing for upcoming events.
