Student Achievements
Congratulations to Tabitha Galvin who competed beautifully in a tough section of 20 dancers at the Northern Beaches Eisteddfod on Sunday and was awarded Highly Commended in the 11 yr Demi Character division.
Jennifer Psaroulis has also been busy. At the IRBD Eisteddfod she placed 2nd in Open Jazz and Highly Commended in Open Contemporary. Jennifer choreographed her own routines which was an amazing achievement.
Ross Psaroulis placed first in the Senior Open Tap section and he was also selected to perform at the Night of Champions. He then went on to the Sydney Tap Festival where he placed 1st in 16/U Fast Tap and 1st in 16/U Slow Tap. Ross also received the prestigious award as the most promising tapper of the competition. What an achievement Ross, congratulations!
Well done to Maddison Hand and Summer Smyth who both performed at the Platinum Girls’ Luncheon on Wednesday. The performances were very well received and the audience delighted to see such young ballerinas take time out in their busy schedule to perform for them.
Friends of Ballet and Dance Morning Tea
The FOBD morning tea will take place in Parkes Hall on Thursday 30 May 9.00-10.30am. Everyone is welcome! Please let our new parents know. Last year was a great success so come along and meet the Academy staff, FOBD other parents. Please bring a plate to share.
Save the Date
The Ballet and Dance Awards Dinner will be held on 19 September at Manly Golf Club. All students in Yrs 7-12 will be invited to attend. Awards (Yrs 8-11) and Certificates (all Yr 7) will be announced at the dinner and special guests will join us. The official invitation to book will be out soon.
Uniform Update
Please note that the new school sports tracksuit is now available in the Uniform Shop. It is a mandatory requirement for our Dance students to wear the tracksuit when participating in Eisteddfods outside school.

Curriculum Dance – Important Dates
Parents are warmly invited to the following Curriculum Dance Showcases in Parkes Hall.
- Yrs 8, 9 and 10 Showcase – Thursday 20 June at 6.30pm
- Yrs 11 and 12 HSC/IB Showcase – Thursday 25 July at 6.30pm
