Community Update
It has been lovely to see and hear how our community has been connecting through the first few weeks of term. The Redlands Parents and Friends Association (RPFA), Parent Contact Groups (PCGs) and Friends of Groups (FoGs) have all been actively engaged in connecting, including and informing our new and current families.
We recognise the vital relationship between home and school and provide opportunities for parents and carers to actively engage with the School. Volunteering is a wonderful opportunity to meet other Redlands parents and to be involved with the School. Volunteer opportunities include classroom support, event support, Uniform Shop assistance, RPFA involvement or joining one of the Friends of Groups that support our many and varied Cocurricular activities. For more information on these opportunities along with upcoming events and group activities please visit the RPFA section of Note Day.
We are delighted to be able to come together as a community early in 2025 through a number of key and much loved Redlands events including Twilight in the Garden on Friday 21 February and our Year 7 Meet and Greet on Tuesday 4 March. Our Twilight in the Garden event for parents and carers provides a wonderful opportunity for our new families to connect with our school community on the Fahl Garden on our Senior Campus. We are expecting this to be another sold out event so please purchase your tickets early here.
It was a pleasure to welcome back on campus some of our newest alumni from the Class of 2024 and their families for the Academic Achievement and Growth Assembly yesterday. This event recognised and celebrated last year’s HSC and IB students. As our new alumni commence their journey beyond the school gates, we continue to ensure that they are connected and supported by the School and their local and global network of Redlanders. Our alumni engagement program includes mentoring and networking programs, interstate and international reunions, a seasonal newsletter and more in order to support a lifelong connection to the School. More information on our alumni engagement program, including international and interstate chapter meetings, can be found here.
A reminder that the best place to stay up to date on what’s happening at Redlands is through Pulse. Pulse provides a quick and easy connection with the School for all of the important information our community seeks – contact information, term dates, events, sport fixtures, school and absentee notices and other key links. Pulse can be accessed through the Redlands App that is available for download in the App Store for Apple users and Google Play for those using Android.
A request to parents/carers whose contact details have changed over the past 12 months (eg. email, mobile phone): Could you please update these on Pulse by cob Monday 10 February, as we will be sending out Year Group Contact Lists next week and we would like to ensure these contain the most up-to-date contact details.
I remain grateful for the continued guidance and support our community provides and, as ever, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly or the wider Community Engagement team should you have any feedback, suggestions or questions.
