Head of Junior School
Welcome Back
Welcome back to what promises to be an exciting and eventful final term of the academic year. It’s hard to believe how quickly the year has flown by, and now we are in the last stretch – a time of reflection, growth, and celebration of the many accomplishments our students have achieved so far.
Focus for the Term: Positive Choices and Finishing Strong
As we enter Term 4, our focus will be on students making positive choices and encouraging them to finish the year on a high note. In our assemblies and classroom activities, we will be discussing how our actions and decisions, big and small, can help us make the most of the final weeks of the academic year. We will encourage students to reflect on their goals, celebrate their progress, and identify areas where they can continue to improve. It’s a good time to think about how they can give their best efforts in their learning, friendships, and contributions to our school community.

Think U Know
from Redlands Dean of Students P-6, Katie-Louise Clinton
On Tuesday, our Year 5 and Year 6 students participated in an informative Think U Know presentation led by Constable Amy Quye, our School Youth Liaison Officer for North Shore Police Command. This engaging session provided valuable insights into online safety and responsible behaviour within our school community.
During the presentation, students learned practical strategies to enhance their online safety, including:
- Identifying Trusted Adults: Understanding who they can turn to for help and support.
- Distinguishing Friends: Recognising the differences between online friends and those they interact with in person.
- Respecting Privacy: Being mindful of sharing personal information and the importance of keeping it private.
At Redlands, we remain committed to raising awareness about personal boundaries and the importance of safety in both the physical and digital worlds. We encourage parents to continue these important conversations at home to reinforce the skills and knowledge our students gained during the session. We appreciate your ongoing support in helping our students navigate their online experiences and safely.
Junior Startup Bootcamp
From Redlands Innovation and Entrepreneurial Learning Strategist, Liz Green
After the success of the Secondary School Startup Bootcamp and keen interest from our Junior School counterparts, we are delighted to launch a new cocurricular offering – Junior Startup Bootcamp: Handmake a Difference. Powered by Macquarie University Incubator and Young Wisdom, this seven week after school program will guide students through the process of finding a product they’d like to bring to life, customer profiling, prototyping, budgeting, branding, sales and finally the ultimate test – selling their product at a market stall. The program is open to students in Years 5 and 6 and will run on Thursday afternoons in the Peter Cornish building between 3:30-5:30pm. Please see the attached flyer for more information and to secure your child’s place in this exciting program.
Learning Plus Volunteers

Learning Plus (support) are looking for volunteers with weekday availability and a desire to contribute regularly to the Redlands student community working with Yrs 7-12.
We need calm and confident community members who understand confidentiality. We need writers (scribes) and readers. You need to have legible handwriting and the ability to communicate in English.
Our volunteers find this a rewarding activity and a fantastic way to support students at Redlands.
We need volunteers to start training now!
Contact sprovisions@redlands.nsw.edu.au to express your interest or request more information.
