Community Update

Community Update

It was a genuine pleasure and privilege to be able to attend the Year 12 Farewell Assembly and Valedictory Dinner yesterday.  I have been inspired by the service and endeavour demonstrated by this impressive cohort of students in their final years at Redlands, closely supported of course by their families and teachers who shared in the celebrations. We look forward to following the journey of our 2024 Valedictorians as our newest cohort of Redlanders.

It has been lovely to see and hear how our community has been connecting through Term 3. The Redlands Parents and Friends Association (RPFA), Parent Contact Groups (PCGs) and Friends of Groups (FoGs) have all been actively engaged in bringing our various groups together both socially and operationally. The RPFA is drawn from dedicated and passionate parent and carer volunteers who selflessly support the growth and prosperity of our School and the wider Redlands community.

Parents and carers who are interested in shaping the future of the School are invited and encouraged to nominate for the various RPFA Committee positions that will become available at the RPFA Annual General Meeting (AGM) to be held at the School on Thursday 24 October. The meeting notification can be found here. The AGM provides the opportunity for our community to hear how the RPFA serves the School and includes an update from our Principal, Sean Corcoran. The meeting concludes with the election of the committee and there is no obligation to nominate if attending the AGM.  For more information on how you can become involved as a volunteer at Redlands please visit the RPFA section.

Our highly anticipated Festival of Redlands event will take place on Saturday 19 October on our Junior Campus. Our Festival of Redlands will shine a light on 140 years of the School highlighting our rich and diverse culture, growth, talent and community. From 1-5pm, the Festival will showcase Performing Arts, Sports, Academics, Visual Arts, Innovative Design and Outdoor Education and feature an international food extravaganza and a House Challenge. More information, along with ticketing details, can be found in the RPFA section of Note Day.

Thank you for your continued guidance and support and as ever, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Community Engagement team, or to me directly, should you have any feedback, suggestions or questions.

The Community Engagement team wish you all a happy, healthy and peaceful Spring break with your family.
