Year 11

Welcome back to Term 3! We hope the break provided a chance for some much-needed rest and relaxation, allowing you to recharge both mentally and physically for the term ahead. This term is set to be a busy one for Year 11, packed with assessments, leadership opportunities, and camp preparation. We encourage you to approach these activities with enthusiasm and dedication, making the most of every opportunity to learn and grow. Remember, staying organised and maintaining a positive mindset will be key to navigating the challenges and achieving success. 

ARTiculate Talk Series

The University of Sydney runs the ARTiculate Talk Series for high school students who wish to extend their learning in the arts and social sciences. The series features free webinars from leading academics at the University of Sydney. To view past talks or sign up to upcoming live sessions, please go to this website. Upcoming topics in August and September include:

• Visual Arts: five case studies in art history and criticism
• Philosophy: Critical Thinking in the IB – targeted to IB students, but open to HSC students.

Recent webinars available for online viewing relate to Ancient History, Economics, English, and Studies of Religion.

PDHPE

Yr 11 PDHPE students have recently engaged in an intensive Senior First Aid Certificate course, achieving remarkable outcomes. Throughout their training, students acquired essential lifesaving skills, including CPR, wound management, and handling emergency situations. Their dedication and hands-on practice ensured they are now well-prepared to respond effectively in critical scenarios. This accomplishment not only enhances their personal skill set, but has contributed to their curriculum outcomes in PDHPE.  Congratulations to all the students for their hard work and success in obtaining their Senior First Aid Certificates.
