Secondary Sport
There was a fantastic atmosphere out at the Secondary School Athletics Carnival on Tuesday. There were a number of fantastic performances which will all be recognised in the School Assembly early next term. A huge thank you to the staff and students for their involvement throughout the day, whether that be running, jumping or throwing there were a number of students who were measuring, raking and assisting with the events.
A reminder that there are a number of holiday sessions for sports over the next 3 weeks, students need to register for these events through the following link Redlands Sport – Term 2 Holiday Sessions (Tennis details are outlined under the tennis section below). We ask that students and parents check their emails throughout the break to ensure they are aware of any changes to the schedule.
We are pleased to announce that Winter Penney (Yr 12) has taken on the role of Snowsports (Ski) Captain for the upcoming Snowsports Season. Winter has been heavily involved with an range of ski disciplines in her time at Redlands, we are looking forward to Winter working with Felicity Schlederer (Snowboard Captain) for the upcoming season.
We are all wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday break. Sport will resume with training on Tuesday 23 July (Term 3, Day 1), sessions will be loaded into student calendars over the holidays.
‘One of life’s counterintuitive lessons is that you will often gain energy by spending a little bit of energy. When you feel lethargic and like you want to lay around all day, it is usually the case that getting up and moving will make you feel better than simply sitting around. Getting outside for 10 minutes or doing the first set of a workout or simply stretching on the floor for a moment – anything to get your body moving – will often leave you feeling more energised. If you want to get your day going, then get your body going. it’s harder for the mind to be sluggish when the body is moving’
James Clear (inspired by a recent conversation with Morgan Housel.)

ISA Football Round 7
In a cool and wet morning, our Redlands Boys faced the tough round of games vs St Patrick’s College at our brand-new synthetic ground at Macquarie University.
We are most grateful to have high quality fields as most games around Sydney were called off. The Redlands boys tried hard and keep improving week by week. We are working very hard to maintain our style of play right through the game. Good to hear most of the results improved from Round 1 vs St Patricks. Congratulations to Coach Ruddy Franco and the Second XI boys who had a great draw against Central Coast Grammar.
The Girls Program had just one game called off due to the weather. First XI Girls, Junior A Girls and Junior B Girls all travelled to Oxley. Even though it wasn’t raining it was very cold and a little windy. The girls were magnificent and performed well bringing home 3 wins out of 3 games.
