Occasionally, outings are also organised to events, movies or shows that are tied in with books, including annual attendance at the Sydney Writer’s festival in May. If you would like to join Book Club, or simply want to know more, please contact Monica or Sabiha.
A number of Book Club members will be attending the Sydney Writers Festival this month. If anyone is interested in joining in, they can contact Monica or Sabiha (see details above) to find out more.

Behind the Scenes with the RPFA: Meet your Class Parents
A wonderful group of volunteers, Class Parents are in place from Redlands House all the way up to Yr 12. Their efforts in welcoming new parents, organising teacher celebrations and facilitating class social events go a long way in maintaining the connected and engaged school community we enjoy here at Redlands.
Check back here each week to meet 2024 Class Parents and discover how you can get involved!
CP Five

Name: Rani Seckold
Role: Class parent, Redlands House Juniors Blue
Kids: Tane Bowler (Kindy) & Ostara Bowler (Redlands House)
If you could choose a Class Parent theme song what would be the title name?
Red, Red Wine by UB40!!! (We need all the support we can get when you have 30 tiny people running around, causing chaos, right?!)
Why did you decide to become a Class Parent, and what do you love most about it?
I have a son who has already gone through Redlands House, so I offered to be the Juniors class parent for my daughter to help some of the first-time Redlands parents navigate their first year with the School. I’ve seen how welcoming and friendly all the parents are, and I wanted to help build that sense of community for our Juniors’ parents. It’s also a great way for me to get to meet all these other wonderful people who I’ll be sharing the parenting school journey with!
What advice would you give to a parent or carer looking to get more involved in the School?
Getting involved is such a great way to meet other people and to get a closer insight into what our little people are experiencing. All the volunteer parents are always happy for extra help, so don’t be shy in putting your hand up – whether it’s to be class parent or to help with some of the school functions. You’ll meet lots of great people along the way.
If you could trade places with your children for a day, what would you most want to experience?
I would just love to see what they do all day – what are they learning? What do they find easy or hard? Who do they play with? How do they feel? Honestly, I’d take any intel I could get! The most I get now is “school was good” or a grunt! I just want to know that they are having a great experience.
The Week in Pictures

???? Gold Star photo goes to the ladies and gents holding down the Pink Socks for last weekend’s soccer matches. “’l’ll take some Rosé at ten in the morning for a good cause!!”.

All these cuties cooking up a storm for good! On 1 June , 25 Redlands Prep students and their families participated in the Kids Giving Back “Cook for Good” program. Our students prepared healthy fruit kebabs and cereal boxes, decorating them with heartfelt messages while experiencing the joy of service to our community. This team of little legends prepared 90 meals, which were donated to Sydneysiders experiencing homelessness and food scarcity. Redlands Prep students embodied the compassion and generous spirit that are characteristic of the incredible Redlands community. We are excited for the next “Cook for Good” session on August 3rd. If you would like to sign up, please follow this link.
