Community Update

It is always a real treat to join our alumni for the annual Platinum Luncheon. This popular and much-loved event welcomes Redlanders who attended the School more than 50 years ago, providing a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the enduring and diverse experiences, friendships and achievements of our former students. Our cherished alumni thoroughly enjoyed each other’s company and delighted in the speeches and musical performances provided by our talented students. My thanks to the Class of 1969 who hosted me at their table and also to all those that contributed to this successful event.

The recollections of Ms Coralie Amos OAM AM (RL 1964) within the Platinum Lunch were particularly engaging as she recounted her time at Redlands through the late 1950s and 60s, and shared compelling experiences as a celebrated community volunteer. As a student at Redlands School, she was thrilled to have the opportunity to serve as Sports Captain for McDouall House and as Tennis Captain, winning the Hattersley Cup. Coralie chose teaching as a profession, and received a Commonwealth Scholarship and Teacher College Scholarship that assisted in her studies. Following a successful teaching career Coralie, immersed herself into volunteering in various pursuits selflessly serving others in her community, which she continues today.  In 2021, Coralie was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for services to the community. We are delighted and proud to name our latest scholarship appeal in her honour – the Coralie Amos OAM Scholarship Appeal.  Click here for more details.

It was pleasure to welcome and celebrate our Redlands House, Preparatory and Junior School Mums and Carers on campus with coffee and classroom activities earlier this week. Our Junior Campus students always shine brighter when their loved ones visit them on campus and it was lovely to see the great pride and joy that this special event provides.

I remain grateful for the continued guidance and support our community provides and, as ever, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Community Engagement team should you have any feedback, suggestions or questions.
