CIS Hockey Trials

Congratulations to Heloise Field, Isha Gupta and Aurelia Wheeler who were selected and attend the CIS Hockey trials on Monday. While not successful in making the CIS team their representation of Redlands was commendable. Thanks also to our Hockey coach Sophie who assisted at the trials on the day.

HICES Netball Trials

Congratulations to Kiara McQueen and Layla Ikram from Year 6 who were selected to attend the HICES Netball Trials in Orange last Friday. Both families made the trip to the trials in Orange from Year 6 Camp in Canberra and while not successful in making the HICES team their representation of Redlands was commendable.

CIS Rugby League Trials

Congratulations to Joshua Yates and Max Humphrey who attended the CIS Rugby League Trials on Monday. With over 147 students trialing it was the largest trialing group in the last few years.

Cross Country Carnival

Under favourable conditions we were able to have our Cross-Country carnival at St Leonards Park. Year 3 students were perhaps the most excited and enthusiastic group as this was their first Cross Country and are to be commended for their participation and spirit. A special mention to our parent helpers, sport coaches and sports staff who assisted on the day.

While races were run in grades the use of the entry number system per athlete the data back into separate age groups and when we did it was pleasing to see some very fast times across the board. Fastest time for each age group and race are as follows;

• Under 8/9 Boys    9:28.21
• Under 8/9 Girls     10:50.69
• Under 10 Boys       8:36.38  
• Under 10 Girls       10:01.04
• Under 11 Boys       9:10.64  
• Under 11 Girls       10:25.49
• Under 12 Boys       8:56.42  
• Under 12 Girls       10:21.73

Congratulations to Roseby House who won the house cup. Congratulations to captains Camilla Allsop and Charlie Halliday who led their team to victory.

HICES Team

Congratulations to the students announced at the assembly on their selection in the 2024 Redlands Cross Country Team. Our team, made up of the top 5 finishers for both boys and girls in their respective age group (not the grades they ran in at the event) will now run at the HICES carnival next week. Those students selected in the Redlands team will now be attending HICES Cross Country on Tuesday and parents would have received an information package for this event.

Representative Sports- Saturday Morning Match Wear

Just a reminder for all families who represent Redlands in Saturday sport only Redlands Sports Uniforms and match day kit is to be worn. Each family should own either a school tracksuit and or a fleece that they can wear over the top of their playing kit if they are cold. If your child feels the cold they may play in their fleece if their match allows it.Any incorrect item will now be confiscated as all students have received the same message.

Redlands Pulse Orientation and Navigation Video

Our intranet, Redlands Pulse, is the first port of call for all Junior School Sport related enquiries. A video has been produced to show you how to navigate through Pulse. You can view this short video here.

Redlands Pulse -The Junior School Sport pages on Redlands Pulse will continue to be the ‘source of truth’ for all information relating to sport this term. I am asking that if parents have an enquiry relating to sport that your first port of call will be the Junior School Sport section of Redlands Pulse.

Wednesday Sport Inability to Train

If your child has an injury that prevents them from training, please send through an email to Junior Sport juniorsport@redlands.nsw.edu.au requesting they ‘sit out’ of training for that particular session. We can then forward this to the relevant external coaching staff. Where applicable please include when they can return to normal training, so coaches are aware of this. That way coaching staff are aware of an injury that prevents them from participating at the venue but also allows us to be aware of periods where they are medically required to ‘sit out’.

Representative Sport Student Absence

If students are absent on match day, parents are required to complete this online absence form. This will allow your responses to be passed on electronically to your child’s coach efficiently and at short notice. The Student Absence link can also be found on the Junior School Sport Page on Redlands Pulse.
