Community Update

It was a pleasure to welcome our Alumni community of Redlanders back to School late last week where School memories and reconnections were shared by those attending this all alumni event celebrating the School’s 140th year of operation.

Within the celebration, Redlander Jane Bianchini (RL 1990) received her 2023 Redlander Alumni Award.  Jane was unable to attend the ceremony last year and was delighted to accept the award in person at this event. The Redlander Alumni Awards recognise and celebrate significant local and global achievements of the alumni community over many years, and across a number of fields of endeavour.  Jane has held senior executive and Board positions across both large public and small private companies, leading high performing successful organisations, recruiting technology and sales professionals across Asia Pacific. Jane created a world first, diversity, equity and Inclusion platform within her business that leap-frogged all of her global competitors, resulting in her securing many notable clients including NBC Universal globally, NZ Police, L’Oréal, Australian Prime Minister’s Office and Cabinet and Allianz, to name a few.

Our alumni can be found locally and globally and we continue to ensure the important connections with our community are nurtured and developed through Redlands dedicated alumni engagement program that includes interstate and international reunions and networking opportunities along with other special events and a quarterly newsletter. We greatly value the relationships we have with our Alumni and our aim is to support a lifelong connection to the School.  For more information and photos from our All Alumni Reunions, check out the Foundation section in today’s Note Day.

Our Junior School Captains have had an extremely busy term and this will continue into the holidays in support of the Wayside Chapel. Wayside Chapel, like many charitable organisations, seek donations from those that are able to assist in supporting those in need. Our Junior School Captains seek our support in the donation of single use toiletries (shampoo, body wash, toothbrushes and toothpaste, soap, etc) which are provided to people who visit the Wayside Chapel to have showers, brush their teeth and get changed into some clean clothes. With many of our families on the move this term break, we are asking you to consider collecting these items where possible in your travels. Collected items can be left with the Reception teams at the Prep and Junior Schools at the beginning of Term 2.  Thank you for your consideration and support of our Junior School Captains.

With the end of another term in sight, the Redlands Parents and Friends Association (RPFA), Parent Contact Groups (PCGs) and FoGs continue to actively bring our various groups together both socially and operationally. A number of end of term and term break events still remain in the calendar and these can be found here.

I remain grateful for the continued guidance and support our community provides and, as ever, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Community Engagement team should you have any feedback, suggestions or questions.

The Community Engagement team wish you a happy, healthy and peaceful term break with your family.
