Tuesday of this week witnessed an inspiring celebration of diversity and unity during Redland’s Annual International Day event. During the stage-led assembly, students took the lead, crafting a captivating video that beautifully encapsulated our school’s deep appreciation for languages and global connectivity. Throughout the video presentation, both students and staff enthusiastically shared their personal language-learning journeys, highlighting our shared commitment to fostering mutual global cooperation and understanding.
The day itself was filled with cultural immersion and linguistic exploration, offering students a range of engaging activities. From a Chinese incursion, Spanish Luchadores mask making and Frida Kahlo flower making, French Francophone Flag craft, to sampling Japanese, Chinese, and French cuisines at food stalls, alongside the classic Aussie sausage sizzle, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
Notably, the event also served a noble cause, with charity contributions surpassing $2500. These funds will be directed towards supporting UNICEF’s initiatives for the Children of Gaza, reflecting our school’s commitment to making a positive impact on a global scale.
International Day not only demonstrated our school’s dedication to celebrating cultural diversity but also emphasized the importance of unity in building a more compassionate and interconnected world. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed, echoing our ongoing commitment to embracing diversity within Redlands and beyond.
