Music

The Music Department’s final week for Term 1 saw exciting events and concerts happening across all three sections of the School. From the Yr 2 Strings Open Lesson, Assemblies, Battle of the Bands, Opera Performances Excursions, Variety Shows – there is always someone making and sharing their music in our great School!

Year 2 Strings Open Lesson

Congratulations to all Year 2 students on their wonderful performances for parents this week! Students proudly demonstrated their learning from Term 1, particularly open string songs – both singing and playing pizzicato. We can’t wait to see the progress Year 2 will make in Term 2, and parents can keep an eye out on Seesaw for the Term 2 learning slides after the holidays.

Battle of the Bands

On Monday night, a packed house witnessed an epic Battle of the Bands across three age divisions.  Our guest judge and industry specialist Carlos ‘C Major’ was impressed by the talent and dedication that shone from the Junior Guest acts through to the oldest division. Yr 11 student Aneke Golowenko took out the overall winner’s trophy, and we congratulate all the winners listed below for their successes.  Thanks once again to Mr Xu and our Music Tutors for their great work with the Redlands Rock Band program.

Junior Choir – Musgrove Opera Performance

Congratulations to all of Junior Choir! Your fantastic performance as part of the Musgrove Opera’s Mulga Bill’s Bicycle was a wonderful opportunity for all 119 students involved. Mr Holden and Ms Partington especially loved watching Junior Choir sing their favourite song “I am a Duck”, which they also sang as an encore for the audience. Well done Junior Choir, and a big thank you to Mrs Roberts and other Music staff for helping make it all happen!

Red Factor

What a fantastic way to end the term with our annual Redlands highlight variety show – Red Factor! These student performances have been working hard to show us their talents full of energy, with show stopping acts that will have the audience singing and dancing along. Best of luck to all participants who are sharing your wonderful talents with us!
