Shakespeare Under the Stars

Reflections
The Redlands Shakespeare Under the Stars in Liggins Quad was a new experience and an exciting task for Year 10 Drama students. Working on Shakespeare was a challenge for many of us, but with lots of preparation, collaboration and help from the amazing Drama staff, it came together better than we could have imagined. Performing in such a large outdoor space such as the Liggins Quad was a new and challenging experience for many of us, but ultimately, we found that the stage space allowed us to put on an amazing show that was enjoyed by all.

The 2024 Shakespeare Festival was my and many of my peers’ first Drama performance. There were mixed emotions towards it. Some excited, some terrified, some unphased, but we all put our best foot forward and managed to produce an amazing and unique night. We all really enjoyed getting to play around with the space provided in Liggins Quad and it was very interesting to see how different groups used the different levels of the R block in their own ways.
It was an amazing (and a little terrifying) experience for all of us that allowed us to really step beyond our comfort zone. I can’t wait to see what other performances Redlands Drama has in store for us.

Gala Arts 2024
Put it in your diaries, Gala Arts will be returning to The Concourse, at the start of Term 3 on Friday 26 July.
