This week, the stands of the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre at Homebush were filled with Redlands students cheering on their teammates on two consecutive days – Secondary School on Tuesday and Junior School on Wednesday. I was delighted to attend the Secondary School Swimming Carnival and witness first-hand the large number of students who were pursuing personal bests or competing to gain valuable points for their House.

Thank you to all our Junior and Secondary School Sports staff for their splendid organisation of these two events which do so much to engender House spirit amongst our students, to all of the other staff who assisted on the days and to our Junior and Secondary School House Captains for leading the rallying cry for participation in support of their respective Houses. Finally, a special mention to the students of Roseby for winning the Secondary School House Shield for the first time since 2006; and to the students of Cowper for winning the Junior School House Trophy for the 6th year in succession.

I am very much looking forward to joining parents, both current and new, at tomorrow evening’s Twilight in the Piazza function on the Junior Campus. In the event of inclement weather, the function will be held in Dunnet Hall, also on the Junior Campus. Please note that stilettos are not to be worn in Dunnet Hall, as they damage the playing surface.
