Secondary School International Day
Tuesday 9 April

International Day is set for Tuesday 9 April to celebrate Redlands diverse international community and spotlight the cultures of the languages we teach.
On the Senior Campus, it will be a regular school day, and students are expected to wear their Redlands uniform.
Student-Led International Day Assembly and Tutor Time Activities
Students have organised International Day assembly for Stages 4, 5 and 6, which will occur in the three weeks leading up to the event. The assembly will focus on Redlands diverse international community, exploring the importance of understanding cultural differences to foster global citizenship.
During Tutor Time, students will participate in an International Day-themed quiz created by Year 10 Language students, with a prize awarded to the group with the best results.
International Day Lunchtime Stalls
During lunchtime, international-themed stalls will be set up in Liggins Quad to celebrate the cultures of the languages studied at Redlands. Students can engage in cultural activities, photobooth and purchase sweet snacks from Chinese, French and Japanese stalls. Snacks will be priced between $3 and $5, and purchases can be made on the day by card or cash, or tokens can be pre-purchased one week before at lunchtime in Liggins Quad. Cash payment is preferred to minimise queues.
Sausage Sizzle
A sausage sizzle will also be held in Liggins Quad at lunchtime, offering students the chance to purchase food and drink items. Proceeds from the sausage sizzle will be donated to UNICEF Australia for the Children of Gaza Crisis Appeal, with sausages priced at $3 and a combo with a drink priced at $5.
Canteen International Food at Recess
During recess, students will have the opportunity to sample delicious international dishes from China, France, Japan and Spain provided by the Canteen. Orders for these items must be placed through Flexischools.
UNICEF Australia for Children of Gaza Crisis Appeal
Proceeds from sales on the day will be donated to UNICEF Australia for the Children of Gaza Crisis Appeal, supporting the urgent need for a ceasefire in Gaza to protect children from ongoing violence and atrocities.
