From the Principal

At Redlands, we have a strategic commitment to sustainably managing the resources, facilities and grounds of the School whilst continually engaging our students and the wider community in this endeavour.

Over the past few years Redlands has introduced a number of new initiatives to reduce our impact on the environment with the aim to change and shape the way future generations live. This focus on successfully integrating and advocating sustainable best practices along with the introduction of our Sustainability Strategy, Sustainability Policy and Sustainability Framework led to Redlands being awarded the 2023 Sustainable School of the Year at the 2023 NSW Environmental Education Awards. A very proud moment for us all, recognising the hard work of many.

We are delighted to share our 2023 Sustainability Report that provides a summary of our journey to date and also maps a way forward to tomorrow in support of our objective to be recognised as a sustainability innovator, locally and globally.

On Tuesday I was pleased to join Ms Van de Peer and three of our Year 12 leaders in speaking to our current Year 7 and 8 students about the Year 9 Moonbah Program commencing next year. Alfie, Antonio and Eva all shared the positive impact that the residential experience of Winter School has had on them. I also joined Secondary School Captains, Jazz and Isaac, and Junior School Captains, Amelie and Pax, at the Junior School Assembly on Tuesday in speaking about the importance of stepping out of our comfort zones, as that is where “the magic happens.

This term it has been wonderful seeing all of the efforts of the many Secondary School students and staff involved in the production of this year’s Musical, Legally Blonde, and I can’t wait to see their performance tonight!
