Community Update
It was lovely to see more than 200 of our community at the inaugural Count Her In International Women’s Day Breakfast on Monday. Two incredible leaders and changemakers, The Hon. Bronnie Taylor – Deputy Leader of the NSW Nationals, Member of the NSW Legislative Council and Vicki Condon AM – CEO and Executive Director of Raise Foundation, shared some heartfelt and personal stories of their commitment to the creation of opportunities for women to earn, learn and lead. These stories and more were carefully threaded together by Liz Green, our talented host and Redlands Innovation and Entrepreneurial Strategist.
At Redlands, we are committed to creating and sustaining a workplace that is equitable, diverse and inclusive, reflective of our strategic commitments to creating a positive culture of wellbeing for all members of our school community and continuing to attract and engage quality staff, while recognising and rewarding them irrespective of gender. Our commitment to gender equity aligns to our Redlands values – Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, Compassion, Fairness and Moral Courage – all of which speak to our strong focus on creating a workplace culture supportive of diversity, inclusion and gender equality.
Uniform Recycling Week has been a great success with hundreds of preloved and unwanted Redlands uniforms recycled through the collection bins located on both campuses this week. A reminder that recycled uniforms will be processed and repurposed by Textile Recyclers Australia, our uniform recycling partner. The collection bins will remain in place tomorrow, the final day of collection. My thanks to Kimberlee Chipper, Redlands Sustainability Manager, for her leadership on this important project supported by passionate volunteers from the Redlands Parents and Friends Association.
A reminder that our community are invited to attend an Easter reflection, prayer and connection on Wednesday 27 March from 7.30am at St Peter’s Church, Cremorne. A light breakfast will be provided and I am reliably informed that Easter eggs may also be available for tasting.
I remain grateful for the continued guidance and support our community provides and, as ever, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly or the wider Community Engagement team should you have any feedback, suggestions or questions.
