Swimming Carnival
There are a number of special occasions in the school year and the annual Swimming Carnival is certainly one of these. So yesterday I was delighted to witness a genuine sense of House spirit and camaraderie between the students at the Redlands Junior School Swimming Carnival. I was also impressed with the wiliness of students to participate in races and events with enthusiasm, even if swimming is necessarily not their preferred activity. Equally impressive were the performances of many of our talented swimmers. For further information please see the Junior Sport section in this week’s Note Day. I acknowledge and am grateful to the sport department, staff and coaches involved in every aspect of the carnival which allows an event to run as smoothly and as efficiently as it did. I also thank parents for your support at the carnival. And finally special congratulations go to Roseby House who won the overall trophy.

In recognising the vital role parents play in equipping their children with essential life skills to face challenging situations and emotions, we invite you to join us for a presentation facilitated by the school counsellors. This session will focus on equipping your child to navigate challenges associated with anxiety and distress. We will provide valuable insights into practical strategies to help your child work through distressing situations. From distinguishing between hypo and hyper reactions to implementing effective coping mechanisms, you’ll gain actionable tools to support your child’s emotional wellbeing. Uniform Recycling takes place in Week 7

Textile Recyclers Australia (TRA) has been selected as our uniform recycling partner following a comprehensive review of available options in 2023. TRA will commence the collection of unwanted Redlands uniforms in Week 7 of Term 1, with each Year Group having a specific day to bring in their unwanted Redlands specific uniforms, listed on the poster above. Bin collections will be monitored, so please ensure only the requested Redlands items in the poster above are brought it, or they will be sent back home. Any non-Redlands branded uniforms can be taken to your local charity bin for reuse, or to H&M and Zara (who offer used clothing recycling).
